I am raising funds for Christmas presents for my 13 year old daughter who has been through a lot since my accident on July 23, 2024. It traumatized her seeing me like this. She still worries today she is going to lose me at any moment. Everything changed for our family. I almost didn’t survive. I broke my femur, my pelvis, my foot, and my ankle. I was life flighted, in a coma and spent several months between the hospital and skilled nursing home. I was bedridden for  five months and had to learn how to walk again. I lost my career and my income, and I’m still waiting for disability. This year has been incredibly hard for us both mentally and physically. My daughter has had to stay strong while I was away, and it’s been so hard for her to see me disabled and in pain all the time. We both have PTSD from everything we’ve been through, and it’s been a very stressful time for us.

With finances so tight, I haven’t been able to provide the things she deserves. She keeps hearing me say, “I can’t right now, I don’t have the money,” and it breaks my heart. I want to give her a Christmas that brings her some joy and a sense of normalcy after such a difficult year. She already missed out on having a good 13th birthday.

I do my best to give back to our community by riding my trike around, encouraging and others to live their dreams despite limitations. I pass out notes of encouragement to the community  and try to earn a little through DoorDash, but it’s not enough. I can only make it a couple of hours due to my condition. It becomes to hard to walk after a bit. 

I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. I know times are tough and everyone is struggling, so I am truly grateful for any support and help for our family. It takes a kind heart and soul to donate to people you don’t know, and your kindness means the world to us.
