I’m Ryan Schroeder. On December 28th, my Dad, Jeff Schroeder, noticed that his skin had taken on a yellow coloration. He quickly made an appointment to see a Doctor the next day. After some lab tests, he was immediately admitted to the Hospital to have a more tests and scans, as well as a procedure to place a stent in his bile duct, as a blockage was causing the jaundice. On December 29th he was diagnosed with Advanced Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer, which was inoperable due to it’s location wrapped around some arteries. That day he was also operated on again, to place a larger stent in his bile duct. That procedure was a failure and resulted in a third procedure to place an external bile drain. This was followed up with even more procedures in the New Year, Oncology visits, GI and Integrative Radiation visits. A few setbacks have delayed the start of his chemo treatments. The medical bills are starting to pour in, and my Dad has been unable to work during all this. To make matters worse, with the issues starting at the end of one year and crossing into the New Year, that means two high annual deductibles need to be met as well as the maximum out of pocket for each year. Because of that, and not wanting my Mom and Dad to worry over these bills with everything else they have going on right now, I’ve started this Go Fund Me for them to assist with the mounting Medical bills. I just want them to concentrate on my Dad fighting this battle against the cancer, and not having to worry about the bills. Any little bit will help, and will be greatly appreciated.
