Hi. My dad, Ze Yang (Paj Txoo/Zeb Yaj), had been a forklift driver at Gallo Winery for 25 years until the kidney failures put him on disability in 2015 (which eventually ran out). He used to get up at 5AM and be gone for work before we even got up for school. He always worked hard and paid the bills and took care of the yard. My dad was very active so it was a shock to all of us when he had kidney failure, couldn’t work, and had to change his diet. With a new kidney he wouldn’t have to attend dialysis 3 times a week (13 hours including Saturdays).
Recently doctors told him that he passed all the tests and is on the top of the transplant list to receive a new kidney as he is a strong candidate. The only obstacle holding him back is the cost of the medication he needs to take until his body accepts the kidney. Doctors say it could take up to 2 years (at least $25,000 worth of medication) after the surgery. We are fundraising to pay for the cost of his medication so he can be approved as soon as possible to get the kidney transplant he needs. After surgery, my family will assist him with transportation to his appointments, work if he is able, and with taking care of my younger siblings. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. I understand COVID-19 hit a lot of people hard. Any financial contribution you are able to donate would be appreciated. Please also share the fundraiser too if you can.
There is no end date. The fundraiser will end when my father no longer needs the medication.
Thank You,
Joshua Yang
