- Hello, this is the worst thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. I am asking for help on behalf of my Dad, Jim Mepham. On Friday 4/15/22 at approximately 3 a.m. my Dad was in Indiana cleaning carpets at Applebees and he suffered a massive stroke. He was taken to a local hospital then immediately life flighted to Loyola Hospital in Chicago. His stroke was on the left side which left him paralyzed on the right side of his body and unable to speak (aphasia) he is currently in the ICU and 4 hours away from his family. He has no insurance and is a small business owner, as well as being the main provider for his family. Currently we are working on getting him home to a hospital in Michigan so all of his family can see him and support him daily. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him and when able to come home will need ‘round the clock care. He will also need a speech therapist and possibly occupational, which will all be paid out of pocket. Any donation is appreciated.
