Help my Dad with Health Insurance

For years, my dad has been struggling with coughing and issues with his lungs leading him to have fibrosis of the lungs. Unfortunately fibrosis of the lungs is terminal and requires a double lung transplant as the only option. Thankfully, he was finally added to the list to receive one, but now his current insurance can not cover a transplant and disability so they are taking away his insurance. That also means removing him from the transplant list which he has been trying to get in for over a year now. We have been told he'd have to pay for COBRA health insurance for 16 months costing over $900 a month so we wanted to please reach out for financial assistance in order to pay this and keep him on the transplant list. He will have doctors visits and medicines to worry about paying for after the operation so insurance won’t cover everything. Any amount is appreciated as well as advice/assistance on any other options as they just told us this out of the blue. Thank you for the time.
