Hello, my name is Jesús David Pinto and I want to introduce you the case of my father, who was found to have a malignant tumor in the papilla of vater. For those who don't know, because I didn't know before, the papilla of vater, also known as vater’s ampulla, is an organ involved in the regulation of bile flow (inhibition and facilitation) into the duodenum and the prevention of reflux into the bile and pancreatic duct system, it is located between the pancreas and the small intestine.
My family has always been a family of the Venezuelan middle class, they are in Caracas, Venezuela, a beautiful Caribbean country full of natural beauties in the north shore of South America, unfortunately in the last decades, and specially in the last 25 years, the political course of Venezuela has taken a few turns never seen before in the history of my country, it went from being one of the richest countries in Latin America, where the Venezuelan currency (Bolivar) became the strongest currency in the world in 1956, to suffering a devaluation of more than 90 % in 2018. This situation has made my family, as well as many Venezuelan families, go from being part of the middle class to the lower class of the country, and not only Venezuelan families have been affected because of this, but also supermarkets, the transportation system and much more importantly, the health system. As a consequence, going to a Venezuelan hospital does not guarantee survival for my father, who requires a delicate operation of 7 hours in the operating room, plus three days of recovery in intensive care and seven more in hospitalization. This means that my family is forced to resort to the country's clinic system or private system, but the point is that covering this operation requires an investment of 43,000 USD or the equivalent of 60,000 CAD, oh because I forgot to tell you that I, like many other Venezuelans, have left the country to seek better opportunities and advancement.
This is why I have created a GoFundMe campaign in which I would like you to be part of a great team that saves lives, to save my dad's life, any contribution, no matter how small it is, will make a difference, and it will motivate me, my friends who support this campaign and those who follow the campaign and read this publication, that every effort, no matter how small, is worth it, it can change a life, it can change your life, my dad’s life and it can change the world.
Thank you.
