My father and his dog Bane have been inseparable for over 14 years. Through thick and thin, including months spent living in cars and bouncing from family to family, they have always had each other. Their bond is unbreakable, and they have never been apart, no matter how hard life got.

Now, Bane is in so much pain that he can barely move on his own. He is almost blind, can no longer control his bladder, and it's clear that his quality of life has declined. After much heartbreak and many tears, we finally convinced my dad that the most loving thing to do is to let Bane go peacefully. This decision has been incredibly hard for him—he cries daily just thinking about it—but he knows it's the right thing to do for Bane's sake.

Unfortunately, my father cannot afford the costs of putting Bane down and the cremation expenses. He is willing to do what is best for his best friend if I can help him find the money.
