Hi everyone,
A few days ago, on August 25th, my dad's construction van was broken into and stolen from in front of our house while he was sleeping. Unfortunately, my dad relies on this van and everything inside of it. Without his tools and materials, he is unable to do any of his work. This is problematic because construction is my dad's only source of income and he is the sole provider in our house. Without his van and materials, he is completely unable to fulfill his work duties.
My dad has been doing construction for 26 years and is incredibly hard-working. He is an independent contractor so all of his tools, materials, transportation, etc. are paid for out of his own pocket. His construction van which he uses to transport his tools/materials/workmen was $11k and the cost of his tools/materials comes in around $5-6k. The total sum to replace everything that my dad needs in order to continue working is $15,000.
He is currently in the midst of three jobs that he needs his general materials/transportation to complete, and the specific materials bought for each job were in the van and subsequently have been stolen as well.
We know that this is a very difficult time for everyone right now, so any little bit helps. Thank you guys so much for sharing this around and chipping in.
