On what should have been a normal evening, my dad was just moments away from getting home with dinner. As he drove down the freshly paved road while heavily raining, his car suddenly hydroplaned. A dangerous combination of water and surface oils made the road incredibly slippery. In an instant, he lost control. His car spun sideways into the opposite lane, where it was violently t-boned by an oncoming vehicle.

He was just one driveway away from making it home.

Miraculously, everyone involved survived and avoided life-threatening injuries. But my dad was badly hurt. He suffered a broken collarbone, 10 broken ribs which he is getting surgery on, a broken leg, badly injured knee along with severe lacerations to his arm and lost 4 pints of blood.

He now faces a long and painful road to recovery. He’ll be out of work for the foreseeable future, with mounting medical bills, therapy, and living expenses he simply won’t be able to manage alone.

We’re so grateful he's alive and we’re doing everything we can to support him. But we can’t do it without help.
