Help My Dad Rebuild After the Kerrville Flood

On July 2nd, my dad finally started a new chapter in his life. After years of struggling with his mental health, he was finding peace and purpose again. With the help of our family, he was able to get an RV, move into a park in Kerrville, Texas, and start building a life he could be proud of.

Early on the morning of July 4th, a devastating flood tore through the area and took everything from him.

His RV was taken by the water and destroyed. All of his belongings are gone — his clothes, food, everything he owned. Worst of all, he lost his three beloved cats — Sammy, Dodie, and Wicca — who were his companions through some of his darkest times.

He heard people screaming for help in the water and attempted to save them; unfortunately, the water was too rough. The grief, the trauma, and the weight of starting over again is almost too much to put into words.

We’re doing everything we can, but we simply are not in the position to rebuild his life a second time on our own. I’m asking from the bottom of my heart for any help you can give — for shelter, food, basic needs, and a chance to begin again.
