Hello everyone, my name is Aliesha. and I’m from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. I am raising funds on behalf of my father, Ucal, to help rebuild our family home and our beloved small business, UJ & Aunty One Stop, which is famously known in our community for our Peppered Shrimp and Shrimp Shop.
On October 28,2025, Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 storm, made direct landfall in St. Elizabeth my hometown. My parents’ home was completely destroyed, and our family business which has been our main source of income for many years was severely damaged.
UJ & Aunty One Stop wasn’t just a business; it was part of our identity. People traveled from near and far to enjoy our peppered shrimp and experience the warmth of our little shop. It represented years of hard work, love, and dedication from my dad and grandmother.Losing it has been heartbreaking, but we are grateful to still have our lives and faith intact.
The funds raised will be used to help my family rebuild and recover in the following ways:
1.Rebuild my parents’ home — including roofing, walls, and basic furnishings to restore safe living conditions.
2.Repair and restock our shrimp shop — replacing damaged cooking equipment, storage containers, and supplies needed to reopen.
3.Provide temporary support for daily living expenses while the business is being rebuilt.
My father has always been a hardworking man and a proud small business owner who took pride in serving our community. This hurricane has taken away so much, but with your help, we can rebuild what was lost and restore a sense of normalcy and hope for our family.
Every contribution no matter how small will make a difference. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more than words can express.
Thank you so much for helping us rebuild our home, our livelihood, and our hope.
