A devastating Kona Low storm recently swept through the Hawaiian Islands, bringing record rainfall and unexpected flooding to areas that had never experienced it before. In the middle of the night, a river of water rushed right through my dad and Michelle’s house, catching them completely off guard. Because of their location, flooding was never something they thought they’d have to worry about, so there was no time to prepare or save precious belongings. In just a few hours, they lost almost everything of value, items needed to run their business and irreplaceable sentimental items that held years of memories.

Now, they are facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over and finding permanent housing. On top of that, they have to replace all the basics—kitchen items, food, furniture, appliances, clothing, tools and so much more. It’s a daunting situation, but I know how strong and resilient they are, and I want to do everything I can to help them get back on their feet.

This support would mean the world to them. They’re so thoughtful and are always doing something for someone else. My dad is not one to ask for help, and everyone who knows him knows that he deserves the world. Any help would be greatly appreciated and never forgotten.
