I'm Sam, and my dad's lung cancer has spread to his brain.

If you've ever met Randy, you know that my dad is an incredible person. He, at the age of 67, is still far more concerned with putting up our Christmas lights and tinkering in his garage than he is with "slowing down."

Unfortunately, due to his cancer diagnosis, he's being forced to slow down.

To make matters worse, my mother, the de facto breadwinner, has been forced to stay at home with him through his five-day-a-week radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Due to legislation here in Pennsylvania, she is not eligible to get paid as a caregiver because she's his spouse (which is another huge issue).

My father is the type of man who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. However, both he and the rest of my family are way too prideful and all-American to ask for help themselves. I don't have such qualms, so here I am, asking for your generous donations this holiday season.

This money will be used to carry my family through the next few grueling months, during which neither parent can work, and medical bills will be devastating.

Among other things, the funds will be used for: Gas to get to and from appointments, groceries to accommodate a healthy diet during chemotherapy, regular bills, and, of course, medical debt.

Even if you have five dollars to give, I'd be eternally grateful.
