Help Us Pay Our Father Mario's Cancer Battle Bills
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
A few years ago our father Mario Tapias discovered a small lesion on his big toe. It turned out to be a rare yet aggressive form of cancer called Acral Lentiginous Melanoma (ALM). Part of his big toe was amputated and the doctors thought that the amputation had removed the cancer. However, in the beginning of May 2019 my brother Harry and I received news that my father's cancer had spread to the rest of his body. Harry immediately booked a flight to Medellin, Colombia where my father lives and began assessing the situation. My father is very sick. The doctors have given him 2 to 12 months to live and are half way through a specific cancer treatment regimen that hopefully will give him more time with us. My father's illness is at the point where he cannot work to support himself. We have created a short term care giving plan (we are working on a long term plan) to place our father in an assisted living facility in Medellin where he will be cared for 24/7 while he undergoes the last few months of his treatment. This campaign is specifically to raise funds right now for this short term plan. The cost of this facility is an expense Harry and I were not expecting to be taking on and we need help. We need your love and support. Thankfully a little goes a long way if you are donating from the U.S. - the U.S. dollar is very strong in Colombia with current conversion rates. We are so grateful for our community of friends and family, you mean the world to us. Thank you for your help.
Love and God Bless,
Harry and Sharon (Shazzy)
