Help My Dad Keep Going

Hi, my name is Logan Bibbee, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my dad Mark Bibbee who is currently battling serious chronic health conditions that has turned our world upside down.

For those who know him, my dad is a fighter, a kind, hardworking, and selfless man who has always put others before himself. Unfortunately, him and my mom are facing ongoing financial challenges as my dad’s health conditions have progressively worsened.

For nearly two weeks now my dad has been in the hospital at CAMC Memorial after having another heart attack at home. He now has very little heart function left and will be sent home with a LifeVest when he is discharged. The doctors think my dad might have a genetic condition that has caused his heart failure. My dad has also been battling Stage 4 Liver Disease that has now worsened. He has been placed on Palliative Care while in the hospital this time.

Sadly he is now facing ongoing medical challenges that require constant care, medications, and treatments that are becoming impossible to manage financially. My mom who has always worked hard providing and caring for her family has had to temporarily take Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) to help care for my dad, and be able to go with him to the University of Kentucky where he will have further tests and treatment.

My dad’s health conditions has made it difficult and at times impossible for him to work. At this time my dad is no longer working, so there has also been that loss of income. The strain of medical bills, transportation to appointments, and daily living expenses is becoming overwhelming.

My parents have little to no outside help or support, and most don’t even know of the difficulties my parents have been dealing with or of my dad’s serious health conditions except for myself and my brother. We are doing what we can, but we’ve reached a point where we need to ask for help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and go directly toward:

• Medical bills and specialist visits

• Prescription, medications, and treatments

•Transportation to and from medical appointments

• Home care and essential support
