Hi everyone, my name is Nicolas Lopez a full time student and I am starting this GoFundMe for my parents during the hardest time of our lives.

Two and a half years ago our world changed when my dad who is 62 years old was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. It is a very aggressive type and at the start the doctors told us he might only have a few months left. But my dad is a fighter. It has been over two years now and even though it has been a long and painful road he has not given up.

He has been through so much like chemo and radiation and many other treatments. Sadly the cancer has spread to his stomach and his brain and now his pancreas. The doctors have been honest with us that there is no cure but we are doing everything we can just to give him more time with us. Every extra day and every extra moment means everything to my family.

Even with insurance the costs are just too much. We still have to cover 20 percent of everything including the hospital stays and the meds and the deductibles. My mom has barely been able to work because she is taking care of him full time and all their savings are gone. The medical debt and credit card bills have piled up to a point where they simply cannot keep up anymore.

Right now there is another treatment that could help him live a little longer. We have to keep fighting for him until the very end.

I am asking for help with a heavy heart. Any amount you can give no matter how small makes a real difference for my family. If you cannot donate please just share this page with others.

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Nicolas Lopez. Soy estudiante a tiempo completo y estoy abriendo este GoFundMe para mis padres durante el momento mas dificil de nuestras vidas.

Hace dos años y medio nuestro mundo cambio cuando a mi papa de 62 años le diagnosticaron cancer de pulmon de celulas pequeñas. Es un tipo muy agresivo y al principio los medicos nos dijeron que tal vez solo le quedaban unos meses. Pero mi papa es un guerrero. Han pasado mas de dos años y aunque ha sido un camino largo y doloroso el no se ha rendido.

El ha pasado por mucho como quimioterapia y radiacion y muchos otros tratamientos. Lamentablemente el cancer se ha extendido a su estomago y a su cerebro y ahora a su pancreas. Los medicos han sido honestos con nosotros al decirnos que no hay cura pero estamos haciendo todo lo posible para darle mas tiempo con nosotros. Cada dia extra y cada momento extra lo es todo para mi familia.

Incluso con el seguro medico los costos son demasiado altos. Todavia tenemos que cubrir el 20 por ciento de todo incluyendo las estancias en el hospital y las medicinas y los deducibles. Mi mama apenas ha podido trabajar porque lo cuida a tiempo completo y todos sus ahorros se han acabado. Las deudas medicas y las tarjetas de credito se han acumulado a un punto en el que simplemente ya no pueden seguir pagando.

Ahora mismo hay otro tratamiento que podria ayudarlo a vivir un poco mas. Tenemos que seguir luchando por el hasta el final.
