Last year, my father was diagnosed with serious heart problems. Earlier this year, he underwent a catheterization, but doctors found it wasn’t enough—he has three arteries completely blocked and now needs a coronary bypass surgery. Right now, only 40% of his heart is really working, while the other 60% is not functional, making this surgery even more urgent. Living in Venezuela, health insurance is not an option for him, and even with some discounts from friends, the surgery remains out of reach without outside support. All the funds raised will go directly toward the cost of his heart surgery, which is essential for his survival and recovery.

My father cannot travel to the US often, and just met his grandchildren for the first time this year. With his condition, he cannot travel, and my children, who are only four years old, would love to spend more time with their grandfather. This surgery would give my dad the chance to enjoy his grandkids, and my children the opportunity to truly know their grandfather. For me, it means everything—I don’t want to lose my dad, who is still very young and has so much life ahead of him.
