Last week, my dad experienced a severe car accident due to unexpected black ice, resulting in his car being completely totaled. Living alone in Des Moines, Iowa, he faces considerable isolation without a vehicle. With essential stores beyond walking distance, he urgently needs a car to access groceries, get to work, and manage daily necessities, especially with the winter conditions.
