Help Save My Dad’s Life — Urgent Defibrillator Replacement Needed
Hi everyone,
Our family is facing a frightening and urgent situation, and we are asking for help to save my dad’s life.
My dad, Dewayne , depends on an implanted defibrillator to keep his heart beating safely. Right now, the battery for that device is completely dead. Without it, he is at serious risk every single day.
For the past three weeks, nurses and doctors have worked tirelessly trying to find funding or assistance so he can have the defibrillator replaced, but nothing has come through. My dad does not have insurance and is unable to obtain coverage, leaving us with no safety net.
The manufacturer has generously agreed to cover the cost of the device itself — something we are incredibly grateful for. However, we must still pay for the hospital fees, surgical costs, and doctor expenses required to replace it, which are far beyond what our family can afford.
My dad is only 54 years old, but his body has endured more than most people face in a lifetime. He is disabled due to his severe heart condition. He has already undergone two open-heart surgeries, three defibrillator procedures, and many other medical complications. He is currently waiting for approval for disability but is unable to work because of his health.
Despite everything, he never stopped being a father first.
He raised me and my two siblings on his own, dedicating his life to making sure we were safe, loved, and provided for. He is a deeply God-fearing man with an unshakable faith, and his strength comes from the Lord.
He lives for his children and grandchildren. Even though we are all grown now, we still need him more than words can express. He still shows up for us in every way he can.
And when people say someone “would give you the shirt off their back,” that truly describes my dad. He isn’t the cliché of a man who helps everyone — he literally does. If someone is in need, he finds a way to help, no matter his own struggles.
Now he is the one who needs help.
This procedure is not optional — it is life-saving. Without a functioning defibrillator, his risk is incredibly high. He still has so much life left to live, so many memories to make with his family, and so much love to give.
We are asking for any support you can give — whether that’s a donation or simply sharing this page. Every dollar and every share brings us closer to getting him the care he urgently needs. ❤️
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean everything to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with our family during this terrifying time.
