Many of you know I just went out California to visit my 83 year old father.  While I was there he finally confided in me his marriage of 9 years had become completely unbearable and he needed to leave.  The relationship has become emotionally abusive and he was being taken advantage of financially.  He lives on Social Security in one of the most expensive states in the country so he is essentially trapped.  I just moved myself and also spent a week visiting him so I am tapped out. 

Paul and I want to help my Dad relocate to South Bend but that requires someone flying back out to California, driving his car and u haul trailer to South Bend.   Paul is making his guestroom available temporarily until my Dad can find an apartment here locally but we need to move him across country and somehow pay all these expenses.  On a fixed income,  Dad is very worried about the expenses of moving, security deposits and new furnishings to start a new life here. 

If any of you could spare even the amount of a tank of gas, it would help us all enormously.  The hardest thing I've ever done was leaving him there yesterday knowing his life was blowing apart.  Luckily, his wife's daughter removed her from the home so he can concentrate on liquidating their rental house and packing his belongings.  Anything you could spare would help us all so much in getting my Dad settled out here in Indiana.
