I’m sharing this GoFundMe to support my father, who is bravely fighting a blood cancer called multiple myeloma.
He has battled this disease for over 20 years, enduring more treatments than anyone should have to. But this past June, things began to take a difficult turn. New chemotherapy options were either ineffective or only worked for a short time, and eventually, his oncologist prepared us for the possibility of hospice care.
Just when it seemed like there were no options left, one final chemotherapy treatment gave him a small 25% chance of becoming eligible for a groundbreaking procedure called CAR-T Therapy. Against the odds, that treatment worked, and he was able to move forward with CAR-T. Even his oncologist was amazed.
He’s now in the second week of this procedure, and it’s been incredibly tough. He’s already been readmitted to the hospital with a 103° fever as his new immune cells work overtime to fight the cancer. This therapy leaves him very vulnerable to infections and neurological symptoms such as confusion, seizures, or falls—he can’t be left alone, even for a moment.
Any help, no matter how small, would go directly toward his medical care and household expenses during this difficult time. If you’re unable to give financially, your prayers, love, and support are deeply appreciated.
This therapy is still very new—no one knows exactly how it will work for each person—but it offers something we haven’t had in a long time: hope. It could give him months or even years more with his loved ones.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read his story and for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.
