Like many, My father's goal was to achieve the American Dream. He came to the U.S. when he was just a teenager. He came here to have better opportunities. As soon as he arrived, he searched for work. He was hired as a dishwasher for a restaurant. After years of working there, he knew his passion was the restaurant business. Eventually he moved up from dishwasher, to server, to bartender to finally a restaurant manager. His dream was to one day own the restaurant he worked at, a few years ago he did just that. Things were great, until the pandemic arrived. My mother and father were owners of the house I grew up in, and their current home in Long Beach. My parents had to sell their first home in order to keep my dad's dream restaurant running. We are a very private family and we always keep our business to ourselves, but just when things got better, my mother had a heart attack due to the virus, we thought we were going to lose her. So my parents had to use the money they got for the house in order to pay for my mother's treatment. She has end stage kidney disease in addition to other illnesses and requires treatment daily. My dad is a very humble man, and does not ask for much in return, but the idea of losing the restaurant and my mother being ill has him extremely devastated , along with myself and my two brothers. I keep to myself, but I cannot let our family business fail without at least trying to keep it standing. What I am asking for is for his family, friends and anyone who has visited the restaurant to help us keep the restaurant alive. I understand during these times many may not have much to give, but even a prayer or if you grab a meal is very much appreciated.
