Hi, I'm Kyle Lally, Brian Lally's son.

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you know my dad from the acting school, or from the countless actors he's mentored over the years. For as long as I can remember, Brian has poured himself into that community, teaching, encouraging, believing in people before they believed in themselves. Some of you might also recognize him from his roles in plays, commercials, or films over the years, or perhaps even the countless Uber and Lyft rides he's driven around this city, always ready with a story, a laugh, or some hard-won advice for whoever climbed into his car. My dad has always been a storyteller at heart. It's in his teaching, it's in his acting, it's in every ride he's given a stranger who left the car feeling like they'd made a friend.

If you know my dad, you probably know this too: no matter what's going on, if you ask him how he's doing, he'll look at you and say, "I'm doing fantastic, never better." That's who he is. And right now, more than anything, our family wants to protect that spirit, to make sure it's not buried under the weight of medical bills and financial stress while he fights to get better.

Recently, my dad suffered two strokes and a fall that caused significant bleeding in his brain. He is currently on a ventilator, and he'll need bypass surgery in the days ahead, followed by what we expect will be a long road of medical care and rehabilitation.

My dad has spent his whole career showing up for other people: as a teacher, a mentor, a storyteller, a familiar face to riders and students alike, an inspiration to so many who've crossed his path. Now I'm asking you to show up for him.
