Help my Dad beat pancreatic cancer!

My Dad, Thomas Cullen, has devoted almost his entire life serving his community and helping people. For over 50 years, since 1966, when he first became a Volunteer Fireman, he has served on 3 different departments in three different states. First in Queens, then in the Florida Keys and lastly in Knoxville TN, where he “retired” in 2013. He has continued to serve as a Fire Instructor and as an Emergency Management Specialist.

Approximately 2 months ago, we received the devastating diagnosis he has Pancreatic Cancer. He is currently receiving treatment at Sloan Kettering. His insurance company keeps delaying this process every step of the way! They are currently covering his treatment on an out of network basis. The treatment will be very lengthy involving many chemo treatments and surgery, not to mention many months of follow up care and continued testing.

The severity of his diagnosis and the nature of his treatment has made it necessary for him to relocate back to the New York area from Florida.  Losing 1/3 of his income as a Fire Instructor in Florida, compounded with the cost of treatment and moving up here is almost impossible to afford. 

My Father is faced with a very challenging road ahead with this illness. The cost of battling this disease will now be extremely difficult with his loss of work.
