Our family is facing something no one can ever be fully prepared for. My beautiful mother, Glenna has been battling multiple myeloma and plasmablastic lymphoma—two extremely rare and aggressive cancers—for the past four years. She has fought with unimaginable strength and grace, but her body is now too tired to keep fighting. As of last week, she was admitted to the hospital. The cancer has spread to her heart and wrapped around her main arteries, and the doctors have told us that we are in her final days.
My father, Shawn-her husband of 34 years has been by her side every step of this painful journey. He’s a hardworking truck driver who has spent years trying to keep everything afloat—working long hours when he can, and missing countless days when my mother needed him most. The emotional toll alone has been heavy, but the financial toll has been crushing.
Because of the medical bills and time lost from work, they have no life insurance and no savings to cover the cost of a funeral or cremation. My dad is now faced with the unbearable heartbreak of losing his wife while also worrying about how to honor her memory and provide stability for their 16-year-old son, whom he will now be raising alone.
What makes this even harder is watching the woman who has always been the life of the party—the one who could light up any room with her laughter and warmth—fade before our eyes. She has always been a beacon of joy and love to everyone around her. Her grandchildren absolutely adore her, and she lights up every time she sees them. She’s “Meme” in the truest, most loving sense—fun, caring, and endlessly proud of each one of them.
I’m asking for your help to lift some of the burden from my dad’s shoulders. Any amount—no matter how small—will go directly toward:
• Funeral or cremation expenses
• Basic household needs and bills while he takes time to grieve
• Providing stability for their 16-year-old son, SJ during this devastating transition
My mom has given so much love to everyone who’s ever met her. She’s the kind of person who made you feel seen and cared for, even on her hardest days. If you can find it in your heart to donate or share this, it would mean the world to our family.
Please help us give my mother the peaceful goodbye she deserves and help my father find a little security as he faces life without her.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, kindness, and generosity.
