What was believed to be a common cold that would not go away, turned out to be a diagnoses of stage 4 Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer on May 2023 for my dear Father, Tomas Arroyo. We sooned learned this is a very rare and aggressive cancer. He had surgery soon after following his diagnosis. They were not able to remove all the cancer and had tracheotomy performed.

With the trachea in place, my Father, who always had so much to say, began to lose his voice and had trouble swallowing food.

He has had radiation and began chemo.

His wife stopped working to take care of him, as my Dad always wanted her to be by his side. The family is now in need of financial help to cover all the accumulating medical and financial expenses.

It has been very hard for the entire family to see their hero, the strongest man we know, battle this terrible disease. My Dad, 57 years young, is a fighter.. a warrior and he's putting up a huge fight to win this battle. He is the grandfather of 3 grandchildren, father of 4 adult children and my teenage sister who lives at home with him and his wife.

Lo que se creía que era un resfriado común que no desaparecía, resultó ser un diagnóstico de cáncer anaplásico de tiroides en etapa 4 en mayo de 2023 para mi querido padre, Tomás Arroyo. Pronto supimos que se trata de un cáncer muy raro y agresivo. Fue operado poco después de su diagnóstico. No pudieron extirpar todo el cáncer y le realizaron una traqueotomía.

Con la tráquea colocada, mi padre, que siempre tenía tanto que decir, empezó a perder la voz y tenía problemas para tragar la comida.

Le dieron radiación y luego comenzó la quimioterapia.

Su esposa dejó de trabajar para cuidarlo, ya que mi papá siempre quiso que ella estuviera a su lado. La familia ahora necesita ayuda financiera para cubrir todos los gastos medicos y financieros acumulados.

Ha sido muy duro para toda la familia ver a su héroe, el hombre más fuerte que conocemos, luchar contra esta terrible enfermedad. Mi Papá, de solo 57 años, es un luchador... un guerrero y está dando una gran pelea para ganar esta batalla. Es abuelo de 3 nietos, padre de 4 hijos adultos y de mi hermana adolescente que vive en casa con el y su esposa.
