My 5 year old dachshund that I got during my first year of college with my brother is currently paralyzed in his back legs. We originally brought him to our vet at Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical Center and tried to see if it could get better with laser treatment, therapy and pain medicine but it has gotten worse quickly. He cannot walk at all and just drags his back legs (we keep him as still as possible) and is obviously sad because he loves to play with his Great dane sister Kali.
The doctor said he needs to have surgerys as soon as possible. The procedure is very costly due to the fact that they will open him up and remove 3 vertebrae and then he would spend time recovering in ICU and physical therapy.
I hate asking for things but this was our only choice or to put him down so he doesn't suffer anymore.
Anything you can give helps. Everyone who knows Doobs knows how great and loving of a dog he is.
I will be posting updates throughout the process and please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your help.
