Help a Mother of Two Rebuild After Domestic Violence
I’m organizing this fundraiser for my cousin, a mother of two who survived domestic violence and is now fighting to rebuild her life after losing her job.
She’s always been hardworking, independent, and determined to make a way for her children. She’s the kind of woman who will figure out a way before she ever asks anyone for help. Even when she’s struggling, she’s still thinking about how she can help someone else.
But sometimes life puts more on one person than they can carry alone.
After finding the strength to leave an unsafe situation, she should have had the opportunity to heal and rebuild. Instead, she’s facing another fight for survival, this time financially.
She’s behind on essential bills, struggling to maintain housing stability, and at risk of losing reliable transportation. These aren’t luxuries. They’re the very things she needs to care for her children, return to work, and regain her independence.
And that’s why I’m stepping in.
I want her to see and understand something: You deserve the same love, support, and kindness you’ve always been willing to give others.
Being strong doesn’t mean having to do everything alone. And sometimes the strongest thing we can do is allow someone to show up for us.
Our goal will help provide:
* Housing stability
* Overdue utility payments
* Transportation expenses (registration, insurance, fees/ penalties)
* Basic household needs
* A little breathing room to secure employment and rebuild
As her family, it’s heartbreaking knowing she found the courage to leave a situation that threatened her well-being, only to face the possibility of losing the stability she’s worked so hard to provide for her children.
She made it out. Now I want to help her make it forward.
No mother should have to choose between keeping the lights on, protecting her home, and having the transportation she needs to provide for her family.
Whether you donate or simply share, every act of kindness brings her and her children one step closer to stability.
More than anything, I want my cousin to see that accepting help doesn’t make her any less independent, capable, or strong.
Sometimes the people who spend their lives showing up for everyone else need someone to show up for them, too.
Thank you for helping this family find their footing again.
