Help My Cousin in This Devastating Time

I come to you with a heavy heart asking for help for my cousin, who was in a horrible accident on August 9. He is currently on life support, fighting for his life.

He suffered multiple facial fractures and must wait for the swelling to go down before he can have surgery. The airbags in his car did not deploy, and he took much of the impact directly to his face. Because of the swelling in his face and lungs, he cannot breathe on his own. Doctors are considering a tracheostomy to help him breathe while his face heals.

He also fractured his vertebrae and is awaiting surgery for that. This accident comes after an already extremely difficult year—he lost his mother, was forced out of his father’s home, and has been on his own trying to rebuild. His car is a total loss, and he will be unable to work for some time, with unknown limitations after recovery. Any help would go a long way toward medical bills, a replacement vehicle, and basic living expenses.

The road ahead will be long and challenging. Any contribution—big or small—or even simply sharing his story will mean the world to us.
