My cousin is a first-generation college graduate who worked part-time while putting herself through school with student loans—an achievement rooted in resilience, determination, and sacrifice. Her dedication does not stop at the classroom door. As a single mother of two children currently attending college, she continues to work additional jobs during holidays and weekends to support her family. Like many educators in Southern California, the rising cost of living and housing has made financial stability increasingly challenging, despite her tireless work ethic.

This fundraiser is focused on helping her create a fully functional virtual teaching classroom—one that will allow her to effectively engage students, deliver high-quality instruction, and expand learning opportunities beyond the physical classroom. Funding will go toward essential technology, updated software, instructional tools, and a reliable virtual setup that directly benefits her students. The iPad's portability will allow her to find quiet spaces to teach, avoiding competing voices in shared classrooms. The scanner will help her provide high-quality, writable PDFs from teacher-created materials, and the laptop riser will improve her teaching setup. Her students, many of whom have never attended school in person due to the pandemic, will directly benefit from these improvements.

In other words, she works in 1 classroom with other teachers in a cubicle style setting. They both teach students through Zoom but they're talking at the same time, making it more difficult for the students to listen and understand the curriculum. The iPad will allow her to take her teachings outside or more mobile and make it easier for her and for her students to learn. Scanner will allow students to download a pdf format for the materials being learned.
