Help Rebuild Hope for Madras, St Ann After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone,

My name is Camiquea, and I’m a proud Jamaican now living in Birmingham, England. My heart remains in my homeland, especially in the small rural community of Madras, St Ann — the place where I grew up.

Madras is a humble but beautiful area, tucked away at the end of the road — one way in and one way out. The people there are hardworking, kind, and community-driven. But since Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, life has changed drastically for them.

This storm has left many families in Madras cut off from essential supplies — food, clean water, toiletries, baby items, and other basic needs. Because of how remote the area is, aid and relief efforts often take longer to reach — or sometimes don’t reach at all.

I will be travelling home soon and want to ensure that the forgotten people of Madras receive the help they truly deserve. Every pound raised will go directly toward purchasing and shipping essential supplies to St Ann, including:

Non-perishable food items (rice, flour, tinned goods, etc.)

Toiletries and hygiene products

Baby and children’s supplies

Basic household and cleaning items

I will personally oversee the collection, shipping, and distribution of these items, working alongside trusted local contacts to ensure everything reaches the families who need it most.

Your donation — no matter how small — can make a real difference to someone’s life. Together, we can help restore hope and remind our people in Madras that they are not forgotten.

Please donate, share, and help me spread the word. Let’s stand together for Jamaica.

Thank you for your love and support,

Camiquea
