My four-year-old Chihuahua is my whole world. One day, I came home to find her in the middle of a seizure. She was shaking, her back legs spread out, and her front legs tucked in between. I dropped everything to pick her up, swaddled her, and held her close until she finally fell asleep in my arms. When I woke up the next morning, my heart sank—she wasn’t moving her back legs at all. She had become paralyzed overnight, and I was devastated.
Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of worry and heartbreak. She’s still so young, and seeing her struggle to move around has been incredibly hard. I want to do everything I can to help her regain her mobility and comfort. She needs veterinary treatment, pain medicine, and special equipment like a wheeler so she can be mobile again and enjoy life like she used to. The costs are overwhelming, and I’m doing my best to keep up, but I can’t do it alone.
This is a very difficult and confusing time for my dog and I right now in a very unexpected matter that I never imagined could happen to her. She’s still a baby and any support would mean the world to me. I’m really struggling and I really just want to help her so I can put both of our minds at ease and help her not be in pain and make sure she gets the right care before her symptoms worsen.
