Help our Chicago Seniors Go Out with a Bang!
Hi, friends and family!
We are proud teachers at Bronzeville Scholastic Institute, a small CPS high school on the south side. This has been a rough year for everyone, but imagine being a senior having to spend almost half of your high school experience stuck at home, isolated from your peers, and trying to learn from a screen. It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye to these amazing students without the normal fanfare and celebratory senior events. We had to cancel prom, and graduation is just a drive-thru, not the typical ceremony.
The Class of 2021 at BSI is an exceptional group, and they deserve a celebration worthy of their awesomeness! We are trying to organize a Senior Picnic in lieu of our traditional Luncheon, but we are really struggling to make it a great event with our budget and navigating the bureaucracy that is the financial department of CPS.
On behalf of our amazing kiddos, we are asking for donations to help fund the final amount needed to throw an awesome outdoor bash in our school courtyard. This would help us purchase decorations, gift bags for the students, and some other miscellaneous items to make the event feel more like a celebration, rather than us just sitting around eating some BBQ in an empty field!
We would be so grateful for any amount you able to contribute, and we are hoping to raise these funds as soon as possible. We love our students and are looking forward to celebrating their accomplishments and sending them off with a memorable bang!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Here we are with one of our IB Juniors in December dressed as holiday elves bringing gifts and cheer to our students. Help us deliver more joy this May!
