I had to move recently because of my disability, and now I’m staying with a friend who’s doing everything he can to help me. I have several cats who are more than just pets—they’re my family and my emotional support. Over the past three years, each one has literally saved my life. They’ve woken me up when my blood sugar was dangerously low, alerted me when I stopped breathing, and even helped me realize I had sepsis in a wound that landed me in the hospital. They are incredibly smart, loving, and protective. Every night, they sleep with or on me, and they aren’t fond of other people. The biggest one even stands on his hind legs to hug me tightly and makes sure strangers don’t get too close.
Right now, I’m facing a big challenge. My cats need to be neutered, and one needs to be spayed. They also need their first shots. I want to make sure they’re healthy and safe, but I can’t afford these expenses on my own. After they’re fixed, I hope to have enough to get them regular vet care and, eventually, for us to have our own home again. I know I’ve made mistakes, but I’m doing everything I can to keep my family together. Any little bit helps. Your support would mean the world to us and would help make sure I don’t lose the only family I have.
