My cat has been with me since he was an unweaned kitten that someone dropped off by our house. I remember searching for him after work, finally finding him and having to hand-feed him because he had never eaten solid food. Since then, we've formed an incredible bond—he's truly the best companion/pet I've ever had.
Recently, something unimaginable happened. My cat was shot by someone in the area. I rushed him to the vet, where x-rays revealed a bullet lodged inside him. The vet had to perform emergency surgery to remove the bullet and also his tail due to damage. The good news is that he's alive and with time, should be able to walk just fine and live a normal life. But his recovery will be long—he needs to stay in a cage and have his bandages changed several times a day for at least a month.
The cost of his care ended up being much higher than I was told at first. While the vet is working with me on a payment plan, the total is more than I can handle financially. I'm doing everything I can to scrape together the money, but I need help. Anything that can be afforded will making a world of difference for both of us. Your kindness will help my cat get the care he needs to heal and return to the happy, loving companion he's always been. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
