I normally don’t ask for help like this, but my brother and his family need it right now.
During the recent storm in Redding, their home was flooded. In the blink of an eye, they lost so much of what they’ve worked so hard for—furniture, personal belongings, everyday essentials, and the sense of safety that comes with having a place you truly call home. What hurts the most is how quickly life can change, especially when it affects kids and a family who are genuinely doing their best.
They are doing everything they can to clean up, rebuild, and stay positive, but the reality is that recovering from something like this is overwhelming—both emotionally and financially.
I am incredibly grateful that they all made it out safely. At one point, my dad, my brother, and his two kids were stranded with no way out as roads became blocked and conditions worsened. It was terrifying. Thanks to a cousin who refused to give up, we were able to get through and rescue them when it felt impossible. That moment alone put everything into perspective—things can be replaced, but lives cannot.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean more than I can put into words. And if you’re not in a position to give, simply sharing this post helps just as much. Every bit of support is a reminder that they’re not alone as they try to put their lives back together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who helps my brother’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
