I’m asking for help on behalf of my brother-in-law and sister, whose lives were turned upside down last Tuesday when a 6-alarm fire destroyed the building where his business operated. His company, TBD Accessory Solutions, LLC, specializes in custom design, fabrication, and installations for the off-road and camping community. This isn’t just a hobby — it is his full-time livelihood and a primary source of income for their household. While the fire didn’t reach his shop space on the first floor, the water used to fight the blaze caused catastrophic damage to his tools, computers, and project materials. These are the essentials he needs to work, and now they’re ruined.

They feel incredibly fortunate to still have their home, especially since the apartment building behind his shop was completely lost and many families were displaced. Because of that, they will not ask for help. But the reality is that losing his business means losing a significant chunk of household income, and having to start something over that took a long time to build. And this couldn’t have come at a worse time — right before the holidays. Unfortunately, insurance wasn’t an option for this building, leaving them with no coverage for his equipment or workspace. That means this loss is total and uninsured.

He and my sister are not people who would ever ask for help, but this situation is devastating for their household. Every dollar raised will go toward covering household bills right before the Christmas season, as well as replacing tools, materials, and securing a new space so he can start earning again and help support his family.
