Help My Brother Recover From Shooting
On August 18th at 7AM, an armed man broke into our family home and robbed our house. As he attempted to assault my mother, my brother intervened and was tragically wounded by the gun. Complying, the criminal locked my family in the bathroom for over 20 minutes while he raided our rooms. As my brother lost blood, he held my mother at gunpoint and walked her through the house desperate to find more. She led him to the door where he would ultimately steal my brothers car and escape.
The suspect was found a day later and is now in custody.
My brother, Frank Lapinet, is stable but remains in critical care. The bullet impacted the upper left chest and eventually punctured both lungs so two chest tubes are helping him breathe. Surgery is tentative for today to remove the bullet fragments. He will remain in the hospital with no visits allowed.
We are a hardworking family. Feeling safe at home or finding peace is going to take years. We are traumatized but comforted knowing the suspect is in custody. The material things can be replaced and the damages to our home can be repaired but we are faced with hospital bills and medical help we cannot afford. Thank you for any help you can provide, be it financially or spreading the word. God bless.
