On January 2, 2026, my brother’s life changed in an instant. A candle accidentally fell onto his bed, quickly engulfing his room in flames. He was airlifted to Louisville Burn Hospital, and thanks to a brave first responder and the efforts of three local fire departments, he survived. Sadly, both his home and his only vehicle were completely destroyed. He had no renters insurance and only liability coverage on his SUV, so he lost everything he owned in the fire.

My brother is disabled and lives on a very limited, fixed income. He does have an older, small camper that he may be able to stay in for a short time, but he faces an uncertain future. The funds raised here will go directly toward temporary housing, medical supplies, and replacing the essentials he lost in the fire.
