Hi, my name is Joey Tilocco-Collinsworth, and I’m fundraising for my brother, Dino whose life was forever changed after what should have been a routine medical visit.

At just 46 years old, my brother went to the hospital for a painful but common kidney stone. What followed was a nightmare none of us could have imagined. He developed sepsis, a severe, life-threatening infection that sent his body into septic shock. Doctors had to place him on vasopressors to keep his blood pressure stable, which ultimately cut off circulation to his extremities.

As a result, my brother went gangrenous in both hands and feet. Despite everything, he fought to survive—and he did. But the damage was irreversible. He has now undergone the amputation of both hands and both feet.

Our hearts are broken, but we are holding onto hope.
