Hi, my name is Charlie,

On Saturday, a devastating fire tore through my brother’s (Dylan/June) apartment building in Montreal’s St-Henri neighbourhood. In moments, everything he owned was gone. He escaped with only the pants he was wearing and his beloved cat in his arms.

He lost his phone, wallet, ID, clothes, and all his personal belongings — including his cherished guitars, which meant the world to him as a passionate musician. Tragically, he did not have tenant insurance to cover the loss.

The Red Cross was able to provide $300 in emergency support, but that can only go so far. We’re raising funds to help him get a plane ticket home and replace some basic necessities like clothes, cat food, toiletries, a phone, and hopefully begin to rebuild some sense of stability.

This has been an overwhelming and traumatic experience, but any kindness and support can make a real difference.

Thank god, he and everyone inside are safe. I am also thankful that I recently moved to Ottawa, and I could pick him up and provide temporary lodging. Setting this up on his behalf as he has quite literally nothing.
