My brother’s house in Queens, NY was tragically destroyed in a devastating house fire. The fire began in the house behind his, and due to strong winds, it quickly spread and engulfed my brother’s home. It was a level 4-alarm fire that affected two houses, including my brother’s. In the chaos, 12 firefighters were injured while bravely battling the flames. My brother has lost everything—clothes, important documents, his bed, furniture, and all the daily essentials that make up a home. The loss is overwhelming, and he is now faced with the unimaginable task of starting over from scratch.

I am reaching out on behalf of my baby brother because I can’t imagine what it’s like to rebuild your life when you weren’t prepared for such a disaster.
