Help My Brother Recover After Devastating Apartment Fire

I am raising funds on behalf of my older brother, who was recently displaced after a devastating building fire at 5234 W. Melrose Ave. The fire caused significant damage and left him without a safe place to stay.

My brother is diabetic, on dialysis, and lives with a disability that makes many day-to-day tasks extremely challenging. He does his best to live independently but it has become nearly impossible after his apartment caught on fire this week. This sudden loss has been especially difficult for him, as he relies on stability, accessibility, and routine to manage his health and daily life. Family and friends are doing the best we can to assist but it is not enough.

Our immediate goal is to secure safe housing for the next 30 days while we work toward a more permanent solution. In addition, the fire destroyed or damaged many of his essential belongings. Funds raised will go toward:

• A new wheelchair

• Temporary housing

• Hygiene and personal care products

• New clothing

• Basic furniture and household necessities lost in the fire
