Help My Brother on His Journey to Beat Cancer

"My Brother's Fight, Is My Fight."
My brother Jason, is currently battling stage 4 colon cancer. I'm hoping to help him with living expenses and offsetting some of the medical expenses not covered by Jason's insurance.
In early November, my brother went to the emergency room for extreme abdominal pain and bleeding. During this visit, the doctors performed an MRI along with other tests. Even before we received the results, we feared the worst. Jason's doctors wanted to admit him for further tests; however, Jason had just started a new position in Reno in late summer and his insurance was not yet active. As a result, Jason had to pay for these -- and subsequent -- tests out of pocket, including the initial colonoscopy and biopsy.
Our worst fears came true: stage 3 colon cancer. Jason needed to start chemotherapy immediately. This required even more tests and scans, including a PET scan that screens for other types of cancer and to figure out the correct dosages of chemo. On December 1, Jason started his first round of chemotherapy.
Jason's chemotherapy schedule is aggressive: chemo every two weeks for the next four months, followed by an additional four months of radiation.
One week into his therapy treatment, Jason received even scarier news. After looking at his scans, Jason's oncologist noticed a slight abnormality in his liver. After an additional biopsy on his liver, Jason was informed on December 14 that there is a malignancy of his liver. This means he is now at stage 4 colon cancer with liver metastasis. His treatment going forward will now include an experimental drug that will aggressively fight cancer in both the colon and liver when paired with chemo.
In less than a month and a half, Jason's world has turned upside down. From the medical expenses not covered by his insurance to lost wages from his unpaid leave of absence, we could use assistance in helping Jason with his newfound financial burden. Any donation will be welcomed and used to cover any out of pocket expenses as well as everyday bills, including rent, groceries and gas to and from the hospital.
In addition to any amount of donations, I also ask that you help raise awareness by visiting www.ccalliance.org.
I also believe in the power of prayer and many, many prayers are needed right now.
I understand if you cannot contribute at this time--after all, 2020 has been rough on all of us. If you can't contribute, please share this publicly to your Facebook timeline to help spread the word.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help.
Love,
Tammy and family
