Help my Brother Mahud victim of another hate crime
Donation protected
My family and I want to thank everyone for all of the support especially from the people that we dont know. We have seen your comments on facebook. You all have no idea how much we appreciate it. For those who don't know, on Friday night around 8:30 pm on the corner of 13th and Cleveland, my brother Mahud was attacked by a white male with acid. Mahud parked at a restaurant when the man approached him and started screaming at him. He was telling him that he couldn't park there. Mahud saw that there was a sign that said he couldn't park there so he moved and parked down the street. When he was walking towards the restaurant the man approched him and started screaming even louder saying "You guys come here and don't obey my laws. You and your people are invading my country," and he continued to repeat this. Mahud could see the hate in his eyes and the man continued to say that Latinos and other nationalities don't belong here that we are just invading the American country. Mahud got very upset from his hateful words. He couldn't believe that he was hearing someone say all these hurtful hate words. We hear about it on the news from other victims of hate crimes. Mahud responded with the following words "People come here from other countries for a better life. The only people who have been here longer than anyone else are the Native Americans." At that moment the man got so angry that Mahud was saying these things to his face. The man pulled out a bottle from his bag and threw acid at my brother which got on the side of his face and in his eye. Today, my brother can't see with his left eye and half of his face is burned. We know the hospital bills will soon be coming from the care he received. My family and I will be helping him with the bills but we will not be able to help 100% with all of the bills.
My brother is a welder. Because of his injuries, he will not be able work until his burns heal and he is fully recovered. to pay since he wont be able to work until he is fully recovered.
His eyesight has been affected and he will need to have follow up care.
Any donation, any amount given from the heart will be greatly appreciated. We know that these type of actions are not OK. We see acts of hate like this happening everywhere. The only thing we can ask ourselves is why do they hate us so much? When will they realize that we all have equal rights and who is next.
Mahud wants everyone to be safe and when someone approaches you with hateful words, just walk away. Don't argue with them, just walk away. People like this are convinced that if we don't have white skin we don't belong here. They won't listen to you and will do something like this or even worse. If you took the time to read all of this thank you so much for your time, your prayers and donations.
