Help My Brother Heal — A Natural Treatment Journey
In 2020, my brother’s life changed forever. What started as a small lump in his chest turned out to be a rare desmoid tumor—a non-cancerous but aggressively invasive growth that had fused to his ribs.
After long delays due to COVID, he finally had surgery in 2022. Doctors removed three of his ribs just to extract the tumor. Days after what we thought was a successful surgery he developed internal bleeding and was rushed into emergency surgery again. After recovering from surgery he developed severe pain in his chest. Doctors said it was nerve damage from the surgery and proceeded to do another surgery for a spinal cord stimulator implant—yet there is still no relief.
Months later, an MRI confirmed our worst fear: The tumor was back—and growing.
Doctors told us that surgery was no longer an option. His only path forward would be two full years of chemotherapy. The first treatment he was offered was Nexavar (Sorafenib)—a drug often used for liver and kidney cancers, sometimes off-label for desmoid tumors. Nexavar came with intense side effects: Debilitating fatigue, nausea and vomiting, skin rashes and peeling, hair thinning, high blood pressure and cardiovascular risks and worse, it wasn’t covered by insurance. Due to it not being officially approved for desmoid tumors, the cost would fall entirely on us: $10-11,000USD/month—adding up to more than $265,000USD over two years.
Due to not being able to afford this medication he was prescribed a different chemotherapy treatment—covered this time, but with the same devastating side effects. It has been a year of weekly treatments and he is still suffering through pain every day. And still… the tumor remains.
My brother is more than this diagnosis.
He’s a kind, devoted Father, Uncle, Brother, Son, Friend and Dog Lover. If you know him, you know. He truly is one of kind. We all adore him but this illness has taken so much from him—not just physically, but emotionally. He’s no longer able to show up for his kids and family the way he wants to. The pain has made even the simplest moments feel out of reach and I know it breaks his heart.
A New Hope: Natural Healing
After months of searching, our mother (our Angel) discovered a promising holistic clinic in El Salvador—and for the first time in years, we feel real hope.
He will begin his healing journey at Vida Sana Cades, a respected wellness and detox center focused on natural, non-invasive tumor therapies. He’ll stay there for two weeks under full care, to detox his body, strengthen his immune system, and prepare for the next stage of healing.
Following this, he’ll receive stem cell therapy from Dr. Eric Noé Calderón Quintanilla, a medical surgeon who specializes in holistic, non-toxic treatments with incredible results.
Together, they’ve created a custom treatment plan, including:
✅ Safe Lodging & 24/7 Care at Vida Sana Cades
✅ Naturopathic Detox to flush harmful toxins
✅ Plant-Based Therapies & Immune Boosting Protocols
✅ Stem Cell Therapy to regenerate damaged tissue
✅ Personalized, Whole-Body Healing focused on his pain and tumor
Documenting the Journey
He will be documenting his experience—from the first day of treatment through recovery—to help others facing the same or similar diagnosis and searching for a gentler path forward.
Our Goal: $18,000USD–$23,000 USD converted to CAD is approx. $30-32,000CAD.
This will cover ALL of his costs: treatment, lodging, travel, follow-up care, and recovery support.
