Help My Brother Heal After Years of Medical Suffering

Hello, my name is Rahima and I live in the UK. I’m raising funds for my beloved elder brother in Uzbekistan, who urgently needs a second major surgery after suffering complications from a surgical error that changed his life over 13 years ago.

Why this matters:

In 2012, a simple appendicitis surgery went horribly wrong when a gauze pad was accidentally left inside his abdomen. This mistake caused years of infections, complications, and five painful operations that left him physically broken and emotionally drained.

This year, with the help of my sister and me, we managed to get him to India for a proper evaluation and life-saving surgery at Max Healthcare Hospital in Delhi. For the first time, he received real care from experienced specialists. On May 5, 2025, he underwent complex abdominal surgery and is now recovering. But he’s still not out of danger — his doctors have recommended a second surgery soon to complete the reconstruction and restore his digestive system.

Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve already spent so far (actual invoices total: $15,850):

Initial tests & document prep: $625

Visa fees: $425 (2 medical visas + tourist visa)

Flights: $2,200 (Tashkent–Delhi + London–Delhi)

Surgery: $9,300

Tests & medication (before/after surgery): $2,400

Accommodation in Delhi (4 weeks): $1,100

Since returning to Uzbekistan in mid-May, my brother has already been hospitalized three more times due to weakness and complications. We’ve spent another $1,250 on medical check-ups, IVs, and stabilizing treatments.

What we still need help with:
