Help my brother get to his medical treatments
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christine and I'm trying to help my brother Dave out. He lives in North Dakota, is chronically ill and needs transportation to his medical appointments. He is unable to work and his car broke down on the highway and can't be fixed this time. He's fixed it many, many times - but now it's dead. We believe that he can get a reliable car for around $3,000. Any funds received above this number will be used to help insure and maintain the vehicle.
Dave is unable to work because of severe and chronic health problems which include: multiple autoimmune diseases, common variable immune disease, chronic Follicular Lymphoma, and Addison's Disease. He receives SSI, Medicare/Medicaid. He has no way to pay for a loan or save up money to purchase a vehicle. There are 24 IV infusion appointments and 3 CT/PET scans each year that require traveling to the North Dakota Cancer Center which is 80 miles away. There are additional trips to the pharmacy and doctor appointments that are handled locally. Gas expenses for the appointments have been mostly covered by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society travel fund.
When he is able, Dave volunteers as an EMT in a rural community and in the summer at Fahocha Bible Camp. He has always been one to give back to the community and I'm hoping that will come back to him now.
