Ryan “ Blu” has always been a hard worker and lived a healthy life, but everything changed when he became seriously ill. He is now 48 years old and will turn 49 in July. He has lost a significant amount of weight, dropping from 180 pounds to just 110 pounds. His health has declined so much that he can no longer drive or care for himself, and he needs a nurse with him 24 hours a day. The doctors do not think he will get better, and it breaks my heart to see him struggle like this.

Right now, he is in the hospital and has been there for over a month. Recently, Ryan was approved for disability, but instead of receiving the help he desperately needs, his backpay was taken for child support for a child that isn’t his. He has one biological daughter, but the son he thought was his is not, and that’s who he was paying child support for. On top of that, he is required to pay half of his monthly disability check, leaving him with barely enough to survive. The financial burden of medical bills, housing, and the cost of hiring a nurse is overwhelming. We also need to hire an attorney to help resolve the child support issue so he can keep what little income he has left.

Due to his medical issues, we are not able to get burial insurance for him, and this is something he worries about. Ryan does not have any family besides myself, my husband, and my children. I have health issues myself, so I am unable to provide the care he needs on my own. He has always been a great guy and has given so much to others. I want nothing more than for my brother to live as comfortably as possible for as long as he can and to receive the proper medical care he deserves.
