My brother is currently in the ICU, fighting for his life after a long battle with alcoholism. He is a two-tour veteran who has always put others before himself, but now he is facing the toughest challenge yet. He has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, and his only hope for a normal life is a liver transplant. Unfortunately, he must be sober for six months before he can even be considered for the transplant list. This is a daunting requirement, especially given the severity of his current condition.

Our family is doing everything we can to support him, but the road ahead is long and uncertain. We are seeking help to cover the costs of an inpatient treatment facility out of state, where he can focus on recovery and have the best chance at long-term sobriety. Being far from familiar surroundings is crucial to help him avoid falling back into old habits. The expenses for this kind of care are significant, and we cannot do it alone.
